I got to apologize for not blogging as consistently as I should, although there comes a time when life overwhelms me and a few things suffer the consequences. That said, I would like to thank you for reading the few posts that are online and the many emails I receive. I am encouraged that you are encouraged. Please keep moving and eating properly and in the long run you shall see the changes in your body, mind and soul.
That said, if you live in Nairobi, you are aware of the the rain-zilla that has been pouring over the last few weeks. The rains are so unpredictable; one moment it's shining, the next there are thunderstorms and lightning! You can imagine how much outdoor exercisers are cursing! I really thank God for the rains because the country needs it, our people need to feed their families and for sure it is more pleasant to look out my window and see plush green with trees blooming and flowers dotting the vicinity! A sight to behold.
However, since I'm an outdoor freak, the rains have not stopped me from venturing out! It is very tough though, but the tough gotta keep going! The intensity of rain quite honestly determines my venturing out. If its a heavy downpour, well, I refrain with a long face, but a little drizzle cannot stop me.
The problem though has been my running shoes. After every walk and jog, they look like I dug them out of a hole. Aggrh! They are usually so muddy touching them feels very yucky! During dry seasons my running shoes could last a week without needing to be washed but within the last month, washing is almost a daily occurrence. I really thank my house help for putting up with my white-turned-brown-almost-black shoes that line up as though for inspection every other time at the balcony!
I'm praying and hoping that the weather improves and that the rains are more predictable. When the alarm goes off at 4.50 am, I have to peep out to determine the wetness before venturing out. I miss the old days of making a mad dash out of the house without dressing up like I'm going for a swim on the running tracks!
Kilowatchers (www.xenihealth.com) are still going strong. We are now working out with Season III participants and they are doing a fantastic job! Kilos are fast disappering and everybody is looking fantastic and transformed. Our trainers are off the hook! Kudos to Kevin, Mike and Alice for making us feel every muscle in our bodies.
kilowatchers Season IV coming up in January, hope you sign up. Make an appointment with Alice Ndong, get evaluated and hoping to see you in the field soon. It feels too good not to share this secret with the whole world.
Remember, when you feel like giving up in your work out regime, think of the consequences of not working out and get motivated. However tough it is, rains and all, keep working out!
Adios!
DN
